Shavuos

Dear Friends,

Shavuos is the anniversary of the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai and the forging of the covenant between G-d and the Jewish People. We mark this event every year, not merely by remembering what happened all those years ago, but by renewing our commitment to G-d and his Torah.

This year more than ever, when Jews around the world and particularly in Israel are under attack simply because they are Jewish. Let us make a conscious effort to strengthen this covenant that we have forged with G-d by committing ourselves to the ideals and traditions of Judaism. And let us pray that G-d will fulfil his part of the agreement and ensure that the Jewish nation and indeed all the nations of the world will live in peace and harmony with each other.

With best wishes for a happy and healthy summer
